SNPP stands for 'simple network paging protocol'. It is a technology used to send messages
to paging devices. The pager replacement
option will receive SNPP messages and convert them to cell phone text messages. It thus
allows an organization to retain its existing message sending infrastructure, while allowing
the message receiving system to be replaced by cell phone text messaging.
